Kjersti Kleine:
What could be better than trampolines, tortilla chips, and
guacamole? Shucker provided a great opportunity for the sophomore fellows to
get together for a fun social event to kick off the beginning of what is going
to be a great year! In the short few weeks we’ve been on campus, the sophomore
fellows have already realized how sophomore year is different from freshmen
year. Between harder classes, passion projects, new club meetings, leadership
roles in organizations, and Greek life for many of us, it can be hard to catch
a breath during the week! Remembering that it is important to take a break and
enjoy some downtime with our fellow Shucker friends, we carpooled to the local
trampoline park, Gravitopia, on Friday afternoon.
After an hour of jumping into
foam pits, flipping on trampolines, and playing dodge ball with some small and
slightly intimidated children, we were exhausted. Being at a trampoline park
definitely makes you feel like a kid again. It was so nice to re-connect with
some of the sophomore fellows after spending a summer apart.
After Gravitopia, we braved the torrential downpour and
arrived at Chuy’s restaurant dripping wet. That was nothing a few baskets of
warm tortilla chips and queso couldn’t fix! We conversed over some delicious
Mexican food to end the night. As we dive full force into all that sophomore
year has to offer, it was nice to have a little break to relax with some of the
people that have become such an important part of our lives and our Furman
experience.
