Summer Spotlight: Lucy Lansing

This summer Lucy Lansing, a Sophomore Fellow, is interning with a political nonprofit called Project Vote Smart near Philipsburg, Montana. She is appreciating the beautiful settings while she and her department work to determine candidates views about a range of pressing issues. The various departments at Vote Smart all have the same goal of providing nonpartisan, accurate information to voters so that they can be as well-informed as possible when it's time to step into the voting booth and make decisions. Lucy says:

"Every day at work is a little different, but research is the primary element of my internship. It's so inspiring to learn about the political process from a new angle; for example, I've researched people such as a relatively unknown Congressman in Utah working to preserve rights for the community that raised her."

Lucy loves all the research she's doing through her internship, especially all the hiking and camping she gets the privilege of doing in such a remote and pure environment. She is looking forward to what the rest of the summer holds, and getting back on campus in the fall! She encourages everyone to check out Project Vote Smart!
